Dog vest.
A New Jersey group plans to equip every police dog in the state, about 300, with bullet-proof vests. This plan was initiated after a German shepherd died from gunshot wounds in the line of duty. Many police dogs die each year as they help policemen protect the public.
Other counties and states are now joining in the effort to protect the animals who have so valiantly protected others. The body-suits can cost up to 1,500 dollars, which according to one source, won't be covered by the state, because 'It's not in the budget.' |
