Although sometimes used as a general term for all reptiles, lizards are actually a specific order of reptiles. Most lizards have long, four-legged bodies with long, tapering tails, and many species have the ability to change the color of their skin (some just a little, but some quite dramatically) as a form of camoflage. Although a large number of lizards are insectivores (insect eaters) larger species are carnivorous hunters, eating small prey such as rodents or eggs. Click here for more info...

Most geckos have fixed eyelids, meaning they can't blink. To keep them clean and moist, they have to lick their own eyeballs!
